Rennet in Israel

Småländsk ostkaka

Can any of you readers residing in Israel tell me where I can find rennet (ostlöpe in Swedish and אנזים הגבנה in Hebrew)? I want to make Småländsk ostkaka and then you need rennet. In Sweden you buy it in the pharmacy. That is the first place I will try, but maybe someone can save me some effort by sharing some information...

And by the way, thank you Kala, for inspiring me!

Doesn't IKEA sell Frödinges ostkaka?? They should, for times like this! And sorry, have no idea about where to find it. And sorry for the "inspiration" in case you don't find rennet...

No, there was no Ostkaka at IKEA. They did not even have Kalles Kaviar, but instead some other kaviar... and I want to make my own Ostkaka... That was kind of the point. Rennet is, like someone reminded me, not kosher, and might therefore be tricky to find, and probably not in the pharmacy. I might be able to make it from just casein, like kosher cheese makers do, but using casein is like exchanging a full Indian curry with only turmeric... A bit flat. We will visit the goat farm nearby and ask. They make cheese.

Jag vet inte om du kan få tag på buffelmozzarella, för den ligger i löpe, har jag för mig och brukar funka bra att använda i andra recept som kräver det.
