Video of Pita

I have put together a little video of Pita, playing with Barak and showing off some newly achieved skills through shaping with clicker and also some regular obedience.

Great video. Pita is a obviously a quick study. And see how she grows! Amazing. Soon, very soon - a big mama indeed. But I was also impressed with Barak. You had that incident a week ago, but now he seems to be very patient and calm. A beginning of a beautiful friendship?

I definitely think so! Truth is that he had an amazing patience with her from day one, maybe even a bit too much for his own good, and then one evening he simply had enough with her obnoxious behaviour and nipped her to set things straight. They have gotten noticeably closer after that incident, just as if they now feel more confident and sure about one another. Doggy life, simple as that. It would be so easy for an ignorant person to misinterpret the situation and become hysterical and maybe judge Barak forever as a viscous and unreliable dog.

Well, I guess Barak made a "statement". Of course, there are examples in nature where some animals even eat their own offspring. And there are examples of extreme cruelty and cannibalism in the history of the human beings. Nature cannot be understood from an anthropocentric viewpoint. We, and the dogs, are part of nature - of instincts and urges and so on and so forth. And life has never been, and will never be, a sweet and easy walk in the park. Not for humans and not for dogs. But there could be great moments. And you and your husbands care, training and love will most certainly create great living conditions for Barak and Pita. And the video also contains humour and a sense of fun. Cheers. And shalom.
